2009 Paris, France: Open Art Code Paris, invitational only, Grand Palace. Margaret LaBounty is the only USA artist invited to exhibit at the Grand Palais. The exhibition ismade up of a group of twenty talented artists who have very different technical styles and their artistic formation is varied. They have united their talents in the past to exhibit together in Italy, Monte Carlo, and Mexico under the umbrella of Passion for Life. Now this energy is being channeled into the promotion of the art works of the individual artists by concentrating on organizing this and other prestigious exhibitions in the future. The permanent installation consists of a series of 20 Totems, a concept that Margaret has developed for over twelve years, displayed as “A Forest Within A Forest, another layer to a path well worn”. “Just as the trees of a forest are varied so are the textures and colors of the Totems. Each making its’ own statement in the world. “ Look at me, I am perfect as I sit in the world, whole, a complete piece of art. “The Tree”.
